Descption

Q345B Carbon Steel Pipe offers superior mechanical properties, low temperature performance, good plasticity and weldability. It finds widespread application in building structures such as bridges, low pressure vessels, cranes, machinery, power stations, petroleum storage tanks, lifting machinery and general metal structural parts.

Q345 has the following mechanical properties: tensile strength of 470-630 MegaPascals; yield strength of 345 MegaPascals; Brinell scale hardness and cold/hot workability. It is commonly used in construction applications such as bridges, ships, pressure vessels and other structural parts exposed to temperatures below -40 degrees Celsius.

There are five quality grades of Q345: A, B, C, D and E. The Q345A grade does not undergo any impact test; the Q345B grade is subject to a 20 degree normal impact test; the Q345C grade undergoes a 0 degree impact test; the Q345D grade endures a -20 degree impact test; while the Q345E grade goes through both 20 degree impact testing as well as 40 degree impact testing.

According to GB/T 1591-2008 standard, Q345 is a low alloy high strength structural steel with higher tensile strength than 16Mn steel and an yield strength of 345 MegaPascals.

It is a widely-used steel with the best strength-to-weight ratio and high temperature resistance, making it suitable for applications across many industries. It has often been employed in building structures, low pressure vessels, cranes, machinery, power stations and mining machinery that must withstand temperatures below -40 degrees or face heavy load demands.
